King’s Day will be dry with plenty of sunshine, but wrap up in the early morning

While Monday will be cloudy with some showers, particularly in the south, weather forecasters are predicting a dry day for Tuesday and the King’s Day holiday on April 27.

Temperatures this week will be no higher than 16 Celsius in the south and a couple of degrees cooler in the north, but King’s Day itself will be dry with sunny spells and a light, northerly wind, the KNMI weather bureau said.

There will be little change for the rest of the week but more rain may arrive at the weekend, the KNMI said. The long-range forecast is for more of the same.

Weerplaza too is forecasting a dry King’s Day with ‘nothing in the weather to stop outdoor activities taking place’. It too agrees that the temperatures this are likely to be below average for the time of year, but says there will be plenty of sun to bask in.

Weeronline says it will be sunny in the south in the morning and the sun will break through over the rest of the country as the day progresses. But the forecaster warns that the night before King’s Day will be chilly, with the temperature dropping to as low as between 1 and 4 Celsius.

‘Wrap up warm if you are planning to hit the King’s Day markets early,’ Weeronline says.
