It might be spring, but Monday will be chilly with hail and sleet

This week may have seen record high temperatures, but there is a chance of some hail and even wet snow on Easter Monday, according to weather bureaus.

After the weekend, the Netherlands will be hit by ‘ice cold air’ from the north west and the chilly weather is set to continue for several days, Weeronline says.

This week the temperature rose above 20 Celsius for several days, which is exceptionally warm for March, meteorologist Rico Schroder said. Next week, however, it will be between 5 Celsius and 9 Celsius, which is well below average for April. There may even be some light frost at night.

This Friday will be no warmer than 12 Celsius in the south but there will be some sunshine, and Saturday and Sunday will be similar.
