West Ham striker Sebastien Haller is joining Ajax for a club record fee of €22.5m. Haller, 26, has signed a contract for 4.5 years.
The Frenchman used to play for FC Utrecht, when Ajax coach Eric ten Hag was there, and is likely to debut for the Amsterdammers on Sunday when they take on arch rival PSV.
‘He has been on our list for a while and we had approached him a couple of times, but to no avail,’ Ajax director Marc Overmars said on the club’s television channel. ‘And with the front row problems we have at the moment, the timing is really good.’
