The impact of the computer problems earlier this week continues to be felt in the number of newly registered coronavirus cases, news website Nu.nl said on Friday.

The public health institute RIVM reported 12,028 new cases in the 24 hours to Friday morning, but a proportion of them are likely to date from earlier in the week when the IT problems hit, Nu.nl said. The average number of new cases over the past seven days is 9,605.

The number of people being treated in intensive care rose by 13 to 549 while 1,485 patients on regular wards are being treated for coronavirus, national patient coordination centre LCPS said.

Five patients have been moved to other health districts because of the shortage of beds closer to home.
