Dutch football association meets to decide on rest of the season

The Dutch football association KNVB is meeting on Tuesday to decide how to cope with the government’s new ban on gatherings, which will run until June 1 at least.

League competition has been halted since the first government restrictions were introduced but there are still eight or nine matches per Eredivisie club to play.

The amateur competition has also been halted and the European championships delayed.

‘We really don’t know what the impact [of the new ban] will be’, a spokesman told broadcaster NOS. ‘We are in talks with the ministries about what this means for the sport.’
