All Night Long wins Grammy for the Netherlands’ Metropole Orkest

A retake of Lionel Richie’s all-time classic, All Night Long by Jacob Collier and performed by the Dutch ensemble Metropole Orkest was voted ‘Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals’ at the 2020 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

‘I couldn’t think of a better orchestra to do this with. To actually play this music with them and craft it together, that’s special,’ Colliers said on the ensemble website.

The Metropole Orkest has previously been nominated for a Grammy Award 20 times and won three.

Described by some as ‘the world’s leading pop & jazz orchestra’, the orchestra picked up a Grammy in 2016 for the album Sylva with Snarky Puppy and was nominated last year with singer/guitarist Raul Mídon for ‘Best Vocal Jazz Album’.
