Zuid-Holland has finalised a new provincial coalition government involving six parties from across the political spectrum.

Zuid-Holland is the last of the 12 Dutch provinces to finalise its regional administration in the wake of the March elections.

The coalition – made up of the VVD, ChristenUnie, SGP, GroenLinks, PvdA and the CDA – will present its plans to the public next week.

Forum voor Democratie, which emerged as the biggest party in the province, is not part of the coalition. Thierry Baudet’s party had been involved in talks with the VVD and CDA but the three parties were unable to find a fourth to form a working majority.

Forum, which topped the polls nationwide, is only part of one coalition – in Limburg.
