Philips shifts 230 support jobs to Poland ‘to boost efficiency’

May 16, 2019

Philips is cutting a total of 230 jobs at its operations in Eindhoven and Best and shifting the workload to Lodz in Poland, the Eindhovens Dagblad reported.

Most of the jobs which will go involve support services for the Philips Health Systems sales organisation. Some two-thirds of the affected jobs are done by people on permanent contracts.

‘After evaluating the units we have concluded that the move the Poland will be more efficient for us,’ a spokesman for Philips told news agency ANP.

The jobs will be phased out by the end of 2020, the company said.
