Police have arrested another man in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old girl at her school in Rotterdam. The man, aged 31, comes from Rotterdam and is the third to be arrested in the investigation into the shooting on December 18.

Shortly after the murder, a 31-year-old man named as Bekir E and said to be Humeyra’s former boyfriend, was arrested. A 25-year-old man was also arrested and later released. The police investigation so far has shown that E came to the school with at least two other people.

Humeyra was shot dead in the college bicycle sheds just 45 minutes before she was due to meet police to talk about being stalked. In August, Beker E was convicted of stalking her, physical assault and making threats, and was subject to a banning order.

Justice ministry inspectors are also investigating why he had not been arrested earlier for breaking the terms of the banning order.
