PSV earn first Champions League point with 2-2 draw against Spurs

PSV made their first Champions League point on Wednesday night with a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in their Group B match.

Spurs were 2-1 up and seemed sure of victory when Hugo Lloris was sent off 11 minutes from time. PSV then levelled with three minutes left as Luuk de Jong put away Pablo Rosario’s cross, to ensure both teams secured a first point.

‘Tottenham are a very good top level European team, so you have to be happy with a point,’ coach Mark van Bommel said after the match.

PSV and Spurs are joint bottom of Group B with one point from three matches. Barcelona lead the group with nine points after beating Inter 2-0 on Wednesday night.
