Dutch exports to Britain fell 3% in the first seven months of 2018, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.

Britain now accounts for 7.4% of Dutch exports, the CBS said. In particular, exports of fuel and  Dutch farm products, including vegetables, flowers and meat were down.

The Netherlands is second only to Germany in terms of exports to Britain. Together with Belgium, the three countries account for half the total EU exports across the channel.

In March, researchers at Wageningen University warned a hard Brexit could lead to a decline in Dutch agricultural production of €500m a year, or roughly 2%, although Britain will continue to be an important market for the Dutch agricultural sector.
