Den Bosch football club sold to Kakhi Jordania, subject to KNVB approval
Dutch first division club FC Den Bosch has been bought by Kakhi Jordania, the 24-year-old son of former Vitesse owner Merab Jordania.
The Georgian national has agreed to buy 99.9% of the club’s shares for a reported €2.5m, local broadcaster Omroep Brabant said on Thursday afternoon. Den Bosch had been looking for an external financier for some time.
According to website nu.nl, Jordania has lived in the Netherlands for several years, while the AD says he has a Swiss passport and made his money from oil and gas.
The deal still has to be approved by the Dutch FA. Club director Paul van der Kraan said he was optimistic that the KNVB would give the okay but that the process would take some weeks.
Den Bosch last played in the Eredivisie in the 2004/05 season and finished 11th in the Jupiler league last season. The Jupiler league is know known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie after a change of sponsorship.
