Rail company NS has declared this week ‘lost cuddly toy week’ in an effort to unite toys lost on the train and at stations with their owners, it said on its website.
This seasonal tug at train travellers’ heartstrings is being conducted via social media.
The company’s Twitter Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat feeds will feature a different toy each day this week. Its aim is to return at least five creatures from ‘a complete zoo of lost cuddly toys’ to the arms of their forgetful owners before Sinterklaas brings new ones.
According to NS, thousands of objects are left behind on trains each year.
