Dutch voting aid website Kieskompas came under renewed cyber attack on Wednesday as hackers sought to take the website off line. The Stemwijzer website was also experiencing problems because of the DDoS attacks, broadcaster NOS said.
A DDoS attack involves blasting a website’s servers with so much information that the page crashes. Both companies, which also had problems on Tuesday, have reported the attacks to the police.
Meanwhile, tweets with the hashtag #Nazihollanda were spread by hundreds of Twitter accounts on Wednesday, including those of the European parliament, Donald Duck magazine and singer Caro Emerald.

The tweets were sent by accounts which used the services of a company known as TwitterCounter, which keeps tweet-related statistics. Some 1.6 million people world wide use the company, which originated in Amsterdam.
The company is investigating the hack and says it has taken immediate steps to block the messages on behalf of its users.
