Pickpockets targeted Gay Pride in Amsterdam

Police in Amsterdam arrested 47 pickpockets during the Gay Pride week, the Parool reports on Monday.

Most of them were picked up during the early part of the week, but 16 were arrested during the canal parade on Saturday, which attracted around 300,000 people.

Of those arrested, 42 were from Romania. The police say they were operating in gangs and came to Amsterdam specially for Gay Pride when the streets are more crowded than usual.

Most victims lost their smartphone or their wallet
