Dutch inflation rate drops but remains way above EU average

The Netherlands’ inflation rate has dropped from 3.2% in March to 2.8% in April, but remains well above the eurozone average of 1.2%, according to figures from European statistics office Eurostat.

The high Dutch inflation rate comes from government measures, such as the increases in insurance tax and value-added tax, says the Telegraaf.

The Netherlands shares third place with Britain in the Eurostat EU-wide inflation rankings. Only Estonia and Romania have higher rates.
