Des Bouvries settles bill fraud case out of court

Leading interior designer Jan des Bouvrie has reached a €25,000 out of court settlement to head off a fraud case involving his design studio.

The studio is said to have made out four bills for a total €80,000 to the wrong firm in order to help a customer avoid tax.
Des Bouvrie, 67, was arrested in March after a probe by the government’s financial investigation team FIOD-ECD as part of a wider investigation and spent a night in jail.
Des Bouvrie is known for his streamlined furniture and love of white sofas. He has also hosted tv home decorating shows.
