Foreign affairs minister Maxime Verhagen will use diplomatic channels, not the public arena, to deal with Jordan’s plans to take legal action against MP Geert Wilders for his anti-Islam film Fitna, NOS tv reports on Wednesday.
In addition, the minister has advised Wilders to be quiet about the case. On Monday the anti-immigration MP accused Jordan of being a ‘banana republic’ and urged Verhagen to make a public protest.
