European football body UEFA has fined Rotterdam club Feyenoord €125,000 after fans went on the rampage in Nancy, France on November 30. The UEFA tie was held up for 20 minutes when police used teargas to subdue Feyenoord supporters who were hurling missiles on the pitch. The club has also been told to pay for the damage to the Nancy stadium.

UEFA has also reserved the right to force the club to play two European home matches behind closed doors if a further offence is committed during the next three years.
‘Believe it or not, this is one of the heaviest punishments we have had,’ commercial director Chris Woerts told BNR Nieuwsradio. Feyenoord has decided not to appeal against the ruling.
