The CGB or Commissie Gelijke Behandeling is an independent commission set up in 1994 to promote and monitor compliance with Dutch equal opportunities legislation. Anyone can take a case to the commission which looks at discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, age, sexual orientation and handicap. Its findings are non-binding but the commission claims the courts back its position in over 70% of cases. Despite the fuss about racial and religious discrimination in the Netherlands, the CGB deals with more complaints about ageism than anything else. websiteAll typical untranslatable Dutch words and expressions translated in the Dictionairy of Dutchness
