House price growth slows to 3.3%, transactions fall

The latest monthly update by the statistics agency CBS showed prices fell by 0.1% from July to August. The number of transactions was also down by 2.9% compared to a year ago.
House price growth peaked at 11.5% in January 2025 as the market recovered from a brief slump in 2023, but since then the rate has declined steadily.
The average price paid for a house, excluding newbuild properties, increased to €503,523, having passed the half-million mark in July. On average prices are now 17.8% higher than the last peak in July 2022.
