The 47-year old went overboard near the Schellingwouderbrug, which connects Amsterdam East and Amsterdam Noord, at around 12:30PM, the regional safety board reported.
Multiple diving teams and rescue boats were dispatched as well as a helicopter equipped with a thermal camera.
After an hour of searching, the operation was scaled back as it was unlikely the man would be found alive.
Divers found his body late Wednesday evening.
It is not clear how the man ended up in the water. The police are investigating.
