Monday and Tuesday will be cooler, staying under 30°, with some clouds and a chance of light rain in the north, but too little to ease the drought.
The clear spell is good news for the partial solar eclipse on Wednesday evening, when the moon will cover up to nearly 90% of the sun.
It will be visible across the country and begin around 7.15pm, ending just after 9pm. It will be the largest partial eclipse seen from the Netherlands since 1999. Anyone watching needs proper eye protection.
The returning warmth brings a strong chance of what would be the fifth regional heatwave of the year.
