Amsterdam student electrocuted during school trip to Germany

The incident occurred on Monday night when the teenager climbed on top of a parked train alone to take a photo and got an electric shock from the overhead power line.
He sustained life-threatening injuries and was air-lifted to a specialist hospital, according to German police.
The youngster remains in hospital in a critical condition, according to the school authorities. The victim’s parents have since travelled to Germany to be with him.
Classmates and staff on the school trip returned to Amsterdam following the incident, and have been offered support.
