Amsterdam football club Ajax is looking for a new main sponsor after telecoms group Ziggo decided to drop the club after 12.5 years.

The deal with Ziggo ends in July 2027. The telecoms company said it was making the decision public now to give Ajax enough time to find a new main sponsor and that it now wants to take a wider focus in terms of sponsorship than just football.

“We are extremely grateful to Ziggo for their trust, support and commitment throughout all these years, both in good times and in more challenging periods,” commercial director Cas Biesta said.

Ziggo is the fourth main sponsor in the club’s history, following TDK, ABN Amro and Aegon. After ABN Amro, Ziggo is the longest-serving main sponsor of the Amsterdam-based club.
