Ajax and FC Utrecht will meet in the final Dutch play-off for a place in Conference League play-offs next season after both sides won on Thursday night.

Utrecht beat Heerenveen 3-2 at home while Ajax booked a 2-0 win over Groningen.

The play-off between the number five (Ajax) and number six (Utrecht) in the Eredivisie will take place on Sunday in Volendam because the Johan Cruijff Arena is occupied by the Harry Styles concert series.

PSV and Feyenoord will take part directly in the Champions League competition next season, with NEC competing for a possible third Dutch ticket. If NEC fail, they will join Twente in the play-offs for the Europa League.

AZ, which finished seventh in the league, automatically qualifies for the Europa League because they won the KNVB Cup.
