Wintry showers and wind on their way later this week

Milder spring weather is set to give way to colder, unsettled conditions later this week, with temperatures dropping to around 6° to 8° from Wednesday.
Monday and Tuesday will remain mild, with temperatures of 11° to 15° and cloud moving in later in the day but it may feel cooler in the south-westerly breeze, according to the Weeronline weekly forecast.
By Wednesday, however, showers will move in from the west and some may be heavy, bringing hail, sleet and possibly thunder during the day. The temperature will drop to around 7° or 8° and there will be strong winds at times, particularly on the coast.
The unsettled and chilly weather will continue on Thursday and Friday, with frequent showers and a chance of thunder and hail, particularly on Thursday when temperatures may reach just 6° or 7°.
By next weekend, however, there will be more sunshine and the temperature will rise slowly again, with the best of the weather on Sunday, Weeronline said.
According to the KNMI weather bureau’s long-term forecast, the likelihood of rain will fall to 30% from the end of the month.
