Just 4% of the Dutch think AI will kill of their job completely

Four in 10 workers in the Netherlands think artificial intelligence can take over part of their jobs, but just 4% believe their jobs will disappear altogether, new research by the CBS shows.

The survey found that 43% of adults in paid employment currently use AI at work, although it did not detail how the technology is being used.

People with a university or HBO college degree are more likely to think their jobs will at least partially disappear, as do 56% of those already working with AI tools.

Some 8% of respondents said they are very concerned about the likely impact of AI on their job, while 40% are slightly worried. Young adults are more likely to be concerned than older people.

Most adults, whether in paid employment or not, believe AI will lead to the loss of certain jobs (75%). In addition, 64% think AI will cause a decline in knowledge and skills in the workforce, and nearly half (48%) believe it will make some jobs less interesting.

At the same time, 57% think AI will boost productivity and 46% believe it will help solve shortages of skilled workers in some sectors.
