Blaricum has most expensive homes, Kerkrade the cheapest

House buyers paid an average of €1.1 million for a home in Blaricum near Utrecht last year, making it the most expensive part of the country to buy property, according to new figures from national statistics agency CBS.
The cheapest properties were in the Limburg town of Kerkrade, where buyers paid an average of €270,000 for a flat or house.
Real estate website Funda currently has 125 properties for sale in Kerkrade at under €300,000, including a 1930s semi-detached brick home for €249,000, but no homes at all for over €1 million.
In Blaricum, by contrast, there are 53 homes over €1 million currently on offer while the cheapest on Funda is a modern brick bungalow covering 91 square metres and costing €425,000.
The average price for a home was also over €1 million in Bloemendaal, while four other local authorities alongside Kerkrade averaged below €300,000 – Pekela in Groningen, Heerlen and Brunssum in Limburg, and Teurneuzen in Zeeland.
