A wet week ahead, with chillier weather next weekend

February 9, 2026

After a grey day on Monday, Tuesday will start out dry and the sun will shine in many places in the morning, according to weather bureau Weeronline.

However, as the day progresses, cloud and rain will move in from the west, although it will remain 7° to 10° in most places, apart from the Wadden Sea islands.

By the evening, it will be raining nationwide, starting a damp and grey period which is set to last several days.

Towards the end of the week, the wind will shift to the north west, bringing drier weather and some sunny spells. But it will be colder during the day and there will be light frosts inland at night.

The rain may also turn into sleet or snow in places, bringing slippery conditions back to some roads.

The KNMI weather bureau sees the changeable weather continuing into the second half of the month.
