Wintry weather spells cancellations and delays at Schiphol

Some 200 flights have been cancelled and hundreds have been cancelled because of wintry conditions at Schiphol airport.

The airport has urged people travelling on Friday to check the most recent flight information before setting out.

Delays are likely to pile up during the day, a Schiphol spokesman told broadcaster NOS. “Wintry showers and the direction of the wind are disrupting the frequency with which planes can land or take off one after the other,” he said.

Flights from Eindhoven airport and Rotterdam/The Hague airport have not been affected so far.
