Snow set to continue until Tuesday, more flights cancelled

A code yellow weather warning remains in force for the entire Netherlands on Sunday and will remain in place until Tuesday because of freezing conditions, the KNMI weather bureau said on Sunday.
There was heavy overnight snow in places on Saturday night and more snow is expected in the coming days, although coastal areas are not expected to be badly affected.
The snow has led to several accidents on the roads and more delays at Schiphol airport.
Flights scrapped
KLM has cancelled 295 services on Sunday and warns that flights which are going ahead are subject to delays. More than 200 flights were scrapped on both Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, social media is full of photos of snowy gardens, parks and vistas. Here are some of the highlights.

⛄️❄️💚#Winterweer #Sneeuwfoto #Winter #Hanzestad pic.twitter.com/ST4nSI8Blj— Jeffrey (@WillemsJeffrey) January 4, 2026
