The Netherlands is sending a 39-strong squad to the Winter Olympics in Italy next month, competing in six different disciplines.

Dutch athletes will take part in the bobsleigh, ice dance (pairs), skeleton, snowboarding, speed skating and short track. The biggest group – 18 athletes – will compete in long track speed skating, where the Dutch have dominated in recent years.

At the Beijing Olympics in 2022, the Dutch won eight gold, five silver and four bronze medals, with a bronze in the skeleton the only non-skating-related medal.

Names to watch out for this year include Jetta Leerdam, Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong, Femke Kok, Jenning de Boo, and Suzanne Schulting who is competing in both the long and short track events.
