Syrian man remanded in custody for planning terror attacks

A Syrian man was remanded in custody for 30 days by judges in Rotterdam on Monday, facing charges of planning to launch terror attacks in Europe.
The man, who is 29, was arrested at his home in Vlissingen on December 18. The public prosecution service suspects him of being a member of IS. According to the AIVD security service, he had spoken on social media about attacks without naming specific targets.
Police seized his computer and phone for forensic examination. The man is being held in solitary confinement and is only allowed contact with his lawyer.
