Dutch prosecutors say no evidence Wilders is facing new risks

Dutch police are not investigating any new threats against far-right leader Geert Wilders, and there are no indications that he is facing additional risks, the public prosecution department has told the Telegraaf.
Wilders has suspended public appearances for the ongoing election campaign following the arrest of three men in Belgium who are suspected of plotting terrorist attacks.
Belgian investigators have not commented officially on whether Wilders was a target, but the PVV leader said on social media that the Dutch counter-terrorism unit NCTV had informed him he was.
Two young men from Antwerp remain in custody in connection with the alleged plot, which centred on Belgian prime minister Bart De Wever. The third has been released.
Wilders has since pulled out of several election debates, despite being offered alternative locations and the option of taking part by phone or video link.
The next televised debate will be broadcast by SBS on October 23. As yet it is unclear if he will take part.
Wilders has been living under heavy security for the past 21 years following his outspoken criticism of radical Islam.
