Losses for FC Utrecht and Go Ahead Eagles in their first-round matches of this season’s Europa League mean all five Dutch clubs to have played so far have failed to pick up a point.

Go Ahead Eagles, in their first Europa League appearance, lost 1-0 at home to FCSB from Bucharest, while Utrecht lost 1-0 at home to Olympique Lyonnais.

PSV Eindhoven and Ajax both lost their first-round matches in the Champions League, and Feyenoord lost its first Europa League match on Wednesday.

AZ Alkmaar, the sixth Dutch club in Europe this year, will kick off their campaign in the Conference League against Larnaca on October 2.
