Living in the south of the Netherlands and wondering why Amsterdam and The Hague get all the attention? Never fear, change is in the air. The team at IamExpat is bringing its community fair network to Eindhoven in November.

“We’re so excited about going to Eindhoven,” says event manager Claire Leunissen, who also manages the fairs in Amsterdam and The Hague. “There is such a large community of talented people from around the world who have gravitated to Eindhoven for its tech industry. And we’re happy to be part of that.”

The IamExpat Fair in Eindhoven takes place on November 8 in a very appropriate setting – a former Philips building now part of the dynamic Strijp S district. It is also the 20th fair organised by IamExpat – yet another reason to celebrate.

“The location is unique,” says Claire. “We always like to hold our fairs in interesting places with a lot of character and charm. So in Eindhoven, Strijp S could not be better because of its history with the local tech industry.”

Eindhoven is booming at the moment and its international community is growing too. The Fair aims to help them make the most of their new lives in the capital of Brabant – whether it is advice in finding a home, a school for the children or improving their career.

If you are a book lover, you will also be able to meet the American Book Center team, and pick up some great reads.

The Fair will also have have a number of recruitment companies on hand, who are hoping to find staff to fill vacancies in the area. “After all, there are a lot of partners of people who have already moved here to work who are trying to establish themselves,” says Claire. “And that involves finding a job as well.”

As well as dozens of exhibitors, the Fair includes at some 30 workshops covering everything from paying tax, learning the difference between “de” and “het” in Dutch and making sure your financial advisor is doing a good job.

“We know that people get a lot out of face-to-face sessions,” says Claire. “And you can get answers to your questions directly, from the experts.”

Sign up here for the sessions that you want to attend. Tickets to the fair are free, so make sure to register in plenty of time.

The IamExpat Fair in Eindhoven takes place in the Klokgebouw, Strijp S on November 8 from 10 am to 5 pm.
