A changeable weather week ahead, with sunshine and showers

Cloud over parts of the Netherlands on Sunday evening spoiled many people’s views of the lunar eclipse and marked a change in the weather for the week ahead.
After a warm, sunny weekend with temperatures topping 29° inland, the wind has shifted to the west, bringing in changeable weather and lower temperatures.
On Monday, there will be sunshine in much of the country but showers are likely in the east and northeast. Wednesday will also have sunny spells, according to Weeronline’s weekly forecast.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will have plenty of rain, particularly in coastal areas, Weeronline said. The temperature will also drop, from up to 24° on Monday to no warmer than 20° by the end of the week.
Next weekend will also be changeable, with showers and sunshine and temperatures between 18° and 21°.
The KNMI’s long-term forecast is for more of the same heading into the second half of the month.
