Most Dutch residents can cycle to a museum, café or zoo

Most people in the Netherlands live within cycling distance of a museum, café or other attraction, the Dutch statistics office CBS reports.
The study finds the average distance to a museum was 4.2km, while the average distance to an attraction, such as a zoo or indoor playground, was 5.6km.
Beer and bitterballen are also close at hand, with the average distance to a café or snackbar just 1.5km away. Distances are much shorter in urban areas.
Catching a film is also fairly easy: there’s an average of one cinema every 5km.
Amsterdam, The Hague and Leiden boast the highest density of museums. The average Amsterdammer has 21 museums in a 5km range, while residents of The Hague and Leiden have 10 each.
Residents in the north of the country have a travel further to get a bit of culture. The distance to an attraction is greatest on the Wadden Islands and in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
