Inflation falls slightly to 3.1% in June as food prices fall

Inflation in the Netherlands fell slightly to 3.1% in June, down from 3.3% in May, according to a preliminary estimate by national statistics agency CBS on Tuesday.

The price of energy has risen slightly month on month, while food has become cheaper, the CBS said.

Calculated according to the European harmonised system, inflation fell 0.1 percentage point to 2.8%, which is well above the European average. The EU calculations do not take rental housing into account.
