Rotterdam football club Feyenoord will face Turkish side Fenerbahçe in the third qualifying round of this year’s Champions League.

Feyenoord trainer Robin van Persie played for Fenerbahçe from 2015 to 2017. The Istanbul-based club, now coached by José Mourinho, finished second in the Turkish league last season and have won the national title 19 times.

If Feyenoord win, they will go through to a final qualifying round for a place in the main tournament. A defeat would see them drop into the Europa League. PSV and Ajax have already secured direct entry to the Champions League group stage.

FC Utrecht, competing for a spot in the Europa League, will take on Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol in the second qualifying round. Sheriff finished second in their domestic league. The first leg will be played in Moldova on 24 July, with the return in Utrecht a week later.

In the Conference League, AZ will face Finnish side Ilves Tampere on the same dates.
