Unsettled week ahead with a brief return of summer heat

The Netherlands faces a week of unsettled weather, with showers at times and cooler temperatures although the heat will be back on Wednesday.
Monday and Tuesday will be relatively cool at 19° to 22° although in the south temperatures may just reach 25° if the sun breaks through. The moderate to fairly strong wind will make it feel noticeably cooler than in recent days.
This west wind will also bring showers, especially on Monday morning. Tuesday is expected to remain changeable, with occasional rain, mainly in the northern half of the country.
On Wednesday, the winds will turn southerly and ease, allowing temperatures to rise again. Much of the country can expect summer-like warmth, with temperatures in the south likely to exceed 30°.
Wednesday night will also stay relatively warm and the chance of thunderstorms will increase during the evening and into the early hours of Thursday.
The risk of showers will persist on Thursday, and temperatures will dip again. From then on, daytime highs are expected to range from 20° to 25°.
While Friday’s forecast remains uncertain, dry periods are likely to dominate and the weekend may bring another rise in summer temperatures, according to the KNMI’s long-range forecast.
