Warm end to May, slightly cooler start to meteorological summer

After a summery Saturday with temperatures reaching up to 28°, the first day of the meteorological summer on Sunday will be slightly cooler, according to Weeronline.
Saturday is set to be warmer than usual for the end of May, when average temperatures are typically between 17 and 21°, Weeronline said. Coastal areas can expect highs of 21 to 24°, while inland temperatures are forecast to reach between 25 and 28°.
With little wind and plenty of sunshine, conditions will feel very summery. However, cloud cover is expected to increase later in the day, and there is a risk of thunderstorms in the south-east.
Temperatures along western beaches will be lower and the onshore breeze may also feel cool along the shoreline. Nevertheless, sun protection will be important, Weeronline said, with UV levels reaching 6 to 7 in the early afternoon, regardless of the air temperature.
Sunday will start the summer season with temperatures of around 18° along the coast and 22 to 23° inland. There may be some isolated showers inland.
Temperatures will be similar for the rest of the week, with rain more likely towards next weekend.
