Tesla sales in the Netherlands slump by 75% in April

The sale of Tesla electric vehicles in the Netherlands has virtually collapsed, with just 382 registered in April, according to new figures from motoring organisations Bovag and the RAI Vereniging.
That represents a decline of almost 75% compared with the same month in 2024, the figures show. Tesla has now disappeared out of the top five most popular car brands and electric car models in the country.
In total, 3,825 Teslas were bought in the first four months of the year, down from 8,299 in the same period last year.
Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has pledged to reduce his involvement with the United States government in May to refocus on the ailing car firm, which has been hit by a downturn in sales worldwide.
In Europe in particular, Donald Trump’s support for far-right parties has dealt a blow to the car maker.
Car sales in the Netherlands were down 4% overall last month
