Some 90,000 live over the border but work in the Netherlands

Nearly 90,000 people work in the Netherlands but live in Belgium or Germany, according to 2023 figures from national statistics agency CBS.
Most have Dutch, Belgian or German nationality, but they have been joined by a growing number of others, particularly from Poland, the CBS said. Cross-border workers are concentrated in Limburg and the southern part of Noord-Brabant province.
The number of Germans working in the Netherlands while living in Germany has halved since 2010, while the number of Poles commuting from across the border has doubled, the CBS said.
Dutch nationals account for one third of the cross-border workers.
