Artificial intelligence is proving an important source of wealth for the Netherlands’ self-made young millionaires, according to the latest Quote under-40s rich list.

Douwe Kiela (38), for example, is in second place on the ranking with assets estimated at €200 million, earned through his company Contexual AI, which develops AI systems for businesses.

Alex Mans (34), who uses AI to create software for airline scheduling, is 10th with €145 million. The biggest riser, Stef van Grieken, who uses AI to develop protein, is in 14th place with €90 million.

As in 2023, the list is topped by Job van der Voort, whose wealth is put at €650 million by Quote, an increase of 8% on a year ago. He owns tech company Remote, which specialises in HR software for remote working.

The top three is completed by Ruud Pierik, founder of Elektramat, a wholesaler in electrical goods such as charging stations and cables.

Women

There are just four women on the 2025 list. The highest ranked is Sharon Hilgers, founder of the jewellery chain My Jewellery, whose assets are estimated at €58 million. Entrepreneur and influencer Negin Mirsalehi (36) is also included, with an estimated €25 million.

Two former stalwarts of the ranking — designer Nikkie Plessen (€40 million) and model Doutzen Kroes (€28 million) — have now turned 40 and are no longer eligible for inclusion.

Martijn Garritsen, better known as DJ Martin Garrix, is the highest ranked DJ, in 32nd place with assets estimated at €56 million. Afrojack and Hardwell also feature in the top 100.

To qualify for this year’s list, young entrepreneurs must have assets of at least €17 million.
