Police issue amber alert for children missing from Dalfsen

March 31, 2025

Dutch police have issued an Amber Alert for two children who went missing in the town of Dalfsen in Overijssel province on Monday morning.

Leya’nyssa (11) and M’qaydian (6) have been kidnapped and the case is “urgent”, police said. They did not say if the brother and sister were with one or more adults when they were last seen at Dalfsen railway station at around 8 am.

“We don’t know where they are and so we are asking the public for help,” a spokesman said. “We would ask everyone for any information about where they could be to get in touch.”

Leya’nyssa, who is 11, is some 1.55 metres tall and has light-coloured eyes. M’qaydian is a six-year-old boy and his eyes too are pale.

Police say they do not know what clothes the children were wearing when they were taken.

Police issue an Amber Alert very rarely, and according to the AD, the last one was in 2022.
