A sunny, dry weekend ahead – more of the same well into March

The weekend’s weather is set to be dry with sunny spells and temperatures of between 8° and 10°, according to weather bureau Weeronline.

Saturday is the first day of meteorological spring, but it will start out chilly due to low cloud and mist. The mist and cloud will clear, bringing sunshine and warmer weather to most of the country.

Saturday night will be bright and chilly, and people celebrating Carnaval in the east and southeast would be well advised to take warmer clothes, Weeronline said.

Sunday may also begin with cloud, but again, the sun will break through, and it will be sunny, with temperatures slightly higher than Saturday.

The dry weather is set to continue into next week, and it will become steadily warmer as the wind shifts to the south. Next weekend could be as warm as 15°, Weeronline said.

The KNMI, in its long-term forecast, sees the dry, sunny weather continuing well into March, with temperatures above average for the time of year.

Weeronline has also published its wrap-up of February’s weather, saying the month was dry and sunny, with much less rain than an average February and cooler average temperatures.
