Five Dutch clubs in European play-offs, PSV meet Juventus

PSV will meet Juventus, and Feyenoord will take on AC Milan in the play-offs for the round of 16 in this year’s Champions League competition.

There was a 50% chance the two Dutch clubs would meet each other in the intermediary round of the new-look competition because of their final placements in the first stage.

PSV met Juventus earlier in the competition and lost 3-1. “Juventus away was one of the worst matches we have played this season,” PSV coach Peter Bosz said at his weekly press conference. “But we have come on since then, so we are in a better position than we were.”

The first legs will be played on February 11 and 12, with the second legs a week later.

In the Europa League, Ajax, AZ, and FC Twente all progressed to the play-offs as well.

Ajax will meet Belgian side Union Sint-Gillis, FC Twente will travel to Norway to meet Bodø/Glimt, and AZ will take on the Turkish side Galatasaray.

The matches will be played on February 13 with the return leg a week later.
