It’s going to get colder, and next week there could be wet snow

The weather is set to change this weekend and the Netherlands could even be in for sleet and wet snow next week, according to weather forecasters.

While Saturday will be overcast with some drizzle, by Sunday there will be heavy rain and next week wintry showers are on the cards, according to Weeronline.

The temperature will drop on Sunday as clouds move in from the North Sea, bringing the chance of thunder and hail at times, although the sun will shine intermittently. The wind will be gusty, particularly on the coast.

Next week, temperatures will hover below 10° and strong winds will make it feel colder, Weeronline says. Inland the temperature could drop to around freezing point and on Tuesday in particular there may be wintry showers.

The KNMI says there is a 90% chance of rain all week with strong winds and no sunshine. It also says sleet is more likely from Wednesday when the temperature will drop to just 1° or 2° at night.
